You can send a membership application in at any time. However, most people "join" Troupers by auditioning for a show.
We try to make this as painless as possible. We really welcome new members of any age into our chorus. This year, we are going to be hold group auditions for chorus members each night of tryouts from 7:30-8. If this time is not convenient, give us a call.
Absolutely not! All roles are open and anyone can audition for a role in the next production.
We do one show each spring, currently for 6 performances. Would we like to do more shows each year? Yes, if you'd like to help us with administration. Let us know your talents.
We rehearse Mondays and Wednesdays starting in January. There are Saturday rehearsals (10-12) for principals, and occasionally for chorus. The week of the show, we of, course, rehearse every night.
If you want to be part of our backstage crew, we are happy to welcome you. Our set and lighting designers are chosen each fall for the spring show, and you can contact them to volunteer. We build our sets in our warehouse in Stamford, and move them to our performance venue the weekend before we open our show. Just contact our president and he/she will tell you who to get in touch with. We also welcome help in publicity, design and costuming. Tell us if you have other talents you'd like to share!
Our nominal minimum age is 16, but we have accepted talented performers as young as 12! Backstage contributors can be any age.
